The Renowned Musician Calls On Backing to Send Together for Palestine Track to UK Festive Top Spot.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The project aims to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded after a major charity concert held in September. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the performance was omitted from the lengthy event due to scheduling overruns.

The notable list of musicians featured on Lullaby includes a selection of acclaimed names from the industry. All took part in the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was produced by a group of talented individuals. The track showcases a combination of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The team running the campaign have stated that their goal is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These donations will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an established charity.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a representative said. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was noted for its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of infrastructure said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“Against that backdrop, a few million won't make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is primarily making this cause better known and showing there’s another side to the story.”

The track is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made accessible to view on a major video platform from mid-December.
