The British player made it to the third stage in three out of four Grand Slams this year.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in her final two events of the year due to a medical condition that has affected her over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to regain her health ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.

Those preparations will include coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have agreed to work together in 2026.

The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken in her opening round versus Ann Li in Wuhan last week and retired when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She again required medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

She was also playing noticeably restricted in the deciding set against Zhu because of back discomfort that has troubled her at times this year.

Such performances signaled a promising season, in which she climbed into the world's top 30 for the first time for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points before losing to Jessica Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.

Raducanu won 28 matches during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami Open in March.

Ranked first in Britain made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament prior to a loss in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

Her coach was trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over for the US Open.

The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.

Raducanu told that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
