However the latest Battlefield is striving to alter that.

Learning From Previous Shortcomings

This title arrives after the back of the sci-fi Battlefield 2042, released previously to a negative reception it had difficulty to recover from.

"It's likely that we would not be able to build and design this new game absent the lessons we gained in the last release," she explains to our team.

Among those takeaways was to engage the community engaged from the start, and the developers initiated invite-only fan trials not long ago.

This "feedback was extremely positive," comments she.

One more missing ingredient from the last game was a story mode, which has been reintroduced in this version.

Criterion design director Fasahat "Fas" Salim is the one in charge of "ensuring those stages are as fun and compelling as possible for the audience."

In spite of claims that the scope of the game had challenged the various studios collaborating internationally to develop the title, he is positive about the work.

"Collaborating with varied perspectives, different experiences, it's a very interesting atmosphere to be engaged with on a regular basis," he says.

"This entire method has been something new but also really exciting because we are collaborating with individuals from internationally."

Regarding the expectation on the crew, Fas comments: "We experience pressure but at the same time it's thrilling.

"It's a large undertaking. It's arguably the largest that many of us have ever been involved in."

Young Artist Contributes New Perspective

That's certainly true of no less than a single team member, visual designer Vlad.

This young professional makes the atmospheric effects that define the mood, feel, and focus of the single-player campaign.

Vlad finished an training period at Criterion prior to obtaining a role at the company, and presently is employed part-time while finishing his VFX degree at his school.

He says he's a long-standing supporter of the franchise, and remembers playing the fourth instalment of the line at a friend's house when he was in his youth.

Being on it now, as his initial industry job, "doesn't feel real."

"It's very incredible seeing the promotion all around," he shares.

"Realizing that I have contributed my own thing into the project is very unbelievable."
